Our First Texas Thanksgiving

So for our first Thanksgiving we decided to go out, LOL. We chose a place called The Broken Spoke to eat at because I had heard that it was a "Historical Texas Dance Hall" which made me think that our first Texas Thanksgiving would be a little more "authentic Texan" by going there.

Turns out that Dance Hall really means = All ages BAR! So we did what we do best and enjoyed it. We all ate bar food, played pool, and listened to the Juke Box. Everyone had a good time and belly ache too. The following evening I cooked a "do over" complete with mashed potatoes, gravy and rolls.
I can't wait to see what next kind of celebration next year will bring because this one will not be forgotten.

First Day of School 2010

Where did summer go? It was here and we were enjoying it.
Then suddenly it ended and it was back to school time.
Bradford started Kindergarten and is in Mrs. Porters class.
Jakob is now in the 4th grade and is in Mrs. Leigh's class.

Alora is in 6th grade and enjoying the end of elementary in Mr. Cederlund's class.

Syd is now 12!

Our Sydney is growing up so quickly. She's 12 now and so mature.
Don't believe me? Just see for yourself.
Handsome isn't she!

Happy Birthday - Syd O!

My Baby is 5 years old.

He is so sweet that if he were ice cream he'd be that special hand churned extra creamy smooth rich vanilla kind that is served in a home made waffle cone which is an extra special treat you'd get usually on a hot summer day. Happy Birthday Bradford Fletcher Osborne.

My Sweet B is 11 years old.

Happy Birthday Alora Darling. You are such a wonderful being. I am so proud of you. I am happy and honored to be your mother.

Father's Day

This Father's Day was Awesome! We scored big on fabulous tickets to the Utah Blaze arena football league game. The events were held at the ECenter in SLC on Sat. June 19, 2010. Pregame, Father's Day ticket holders were able to come to the arena floor for some fun. We did some drills, met the Blaze Dancers, and the Blaze Mascot -Harley. After the fun a Chick Fil A lunch was provided and we were able to check out the locker room. We had a blast, it was Amazing Fun!
The Blaze didn't win against the Tampa Bay Storm that evening but it was entertaining and fun for sure. Some of our friends were also there and they happened to have better seats then we did so about 3/4 of the way through the game we went and sat by them.

Even if we weren't able to do the pregame activities we still would have had a real good time. I hope that someday we are able to go to another Blaze game. Oh and after we were able to get the player's autographs.

Ava's 2nd Birthday

So Ava turned 2 February 28, 2010. Shayla held her birthday party at Jungle Jim's. Everyone had so much fun.

We really missed Sydney being with us but we are happy to have had her with us over Thanksgiving and we were able to do her Christmas with us during that time. Here are some of our fun pictures from the holiday.

Cheer Camp 2010

Alora participated in a very fun opportunity this January. Granger High School Mini Cheer Camp. Alora really enjoyed this activity because this is more like the kind of cheer that she loves. While she had fun cheering with a dance company in the past she wasn't loving it because it lacked the . . . Sport Cheer! Ya know what I mean! Rallying the Crowd, Go Team, Go Team, Go, Fight, Win!
Aunt Kodi, Aunt Jenny, and Anthony also attended to support her. It was so much fun and I was so proud. So was her Dad, after her routine Matt leaned over to me and said "That brought a tear to my eye". I too had tears of happy! Way to Go, B we love you so much. And we are so happy that you had so much fun. Keep doing what you love and we'll be the wind on your back. P.S. So Far We Like Anthony :)
P.P.S. I wanted to add the video but B reminded me that I am really bad at recording :)

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas

Matt and I hosted the family Christmas again this year. Can I just say - I love hosting this Christmas party at our house. I really enjoy having all of the families over enjoying the spirit of the season together. We had a special visit from Santa's helper since the offical Santa couldn't be here, as you know Santa is super busy preparing for the big night. Santa's helper was fantastic he brought fun gifts for the kids and of course a gift for each of the Grandma's too. He even stayed for a bite and a drink.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious pot luck dinner and the kids all had so much fun playing together (18 kids total). Grandma Cathy did her annual pajama gift for each child and we played a fun game for the family gift exchange. Matt won 2 very large bags of Hershey Miniatures which Shayla wanted very badly and so she and the kids chased and attacked Matt with hopes of getting the candy. Matt held tight and was able to keep the goodies and our family enjoyed them over the following week.
I'm excited to host this party again next year and for it to become an annual tradition. Merry Christmas Family - We love you!
